Wondering how tall is Plies? Plies is an American Rapper who was born as Algernod Lanier Washington. He is the founder of Big Gates Records along with his step brother. He has been a wide receiver for Miami University’s football team for 1996 and 1997. He worked with Slip-n-Slide Records for three years as a rapper. He debuted in 2007 with the famous album The Real Testament that comprised of very popular songs like “Shawty” as well as “hypnotized” which made huge waves in American music scenes.

Born as Algernod Lanier Washington on the 1st of July, 1976, American rapper Plies has always known how to tell him story with the help of rhymes. Born in Fort Myers, Florida Plies came from a modest background and grew up in the East Dunbar side of the famous Fort Myers. He went to school at Fort Myers Senior High School where he was a footballer and was also crowned Home Coming King. When he reached Miami University, he changed his name to Nod Washington and was the wide receiver in the football team for two years. He dropped out of college in between to open Big Gates Records with his step brother Ronnell Lawrence Lavatte.
Early Life
Plies started Big Gates Records and started rapping with one of his artists. It was the single “Tell Dem Krackers Dat” that caught the attention of Slip-n-Slide Records who signed on Plies for three years in 2004. He produced many mixed tapes with them. On the side, he has a son named Nijier Lanier Washington with girlfriend Brandy Lacole Lyons on 2003.
Career
In August 2007, Plies released ‘The Real Testament’ where his single “Shawty” topped Bilboards Hot Rap songs. His second popular single from the album “Hypnotized” also featured Akon and soon became a hit as well.
In June 2008, Plies released ‘Definition of Real’, his second album which included the lead single “Bust It Baby part 2” that also featured Ne-Yo. This sing reached the Number 2 spot on Hot 100 list for R&B and Rap. The album also debuted at number 2 on Billboard 200 and sold as many as 214,000 copies within the first week.
In December 2008, Plies released the third album ‘Da REAList’ and its top song ‘Put It on Ya’ which featured Chris J featured at number 14 at the billboard 200. This album sold more than 114,000 copies, proving once again how loved Plies music is with his fans across the globe. He released his fourth album in June 2010.
He has released ‘You need people like me’, a mixed tape in September 2010. He has also featured in many singles and songs by other stars like Usher and Bobby V.
