Biography
The comic is born on August the 11th 1967 in Newark, New Jersey. His father was a policeman and a bar owner. He was a man with bad tamper who will often get into fights with other men before his child. Joe’s mother will eventually divorce and marry another man. The newly married couple along with young Joe Rogan moved to San Francisco.
Growing up Joe Rogan will often lose his temper, but he found a way to channel that extra energy by training Tae Kwon Do. The young athlete was so good he got his very own black belt at the age of 15.
Career
In 1994 he starred as Frank Valente – a young ego centric star player in a fictional Baseball team, on the Fox comedy ‘Hardball’. The show was cancelled after nine episodes. For four years (1995-1999) he co-starred in the comedy sitcom show “NewsRadio”.
In 2010 his first stand up comedy DVD was released named “Talking Monkey in space”. His first byte at Hollywood was after he played with Kevin James in the movie “Zookeeper”. Joe is currently set to play himself in the upcoming movie called “Here Comes the Boom” which is to be release in the summer of 2012.
Mr. Rogan has hosted the famous TV series “Fear Factor” for five years (2001-2006). His participation at the Ultimate Fighting Campionship began as an interviewer to the fighters at UFC 12: Judgement Day. His podcast show “The Joe Rogan Experience” is hugely successful. The comic and his friend and video producer Brian “Redban” Reichle will invite friends of his like, Duncan Trussell, Eddie Bravo, Joey Diaz etc. and will talk about all kind of topics. Joe is very open in his beliefs that a man must at least once try a psychedelic in his/her life as this is the only way one could get a sense of what really this life is about.
