Biography

Birmingham, Alabama is where Gucci Mane was born. His birth name is Radric Davis. He later moved to Atlanta together with his mom. The future rap star studied at Ronald E. McNair High School, Atlanta. Because of his passion for music and urge to financially help his mother Gucci started singing at a very early age. At the age of 14 he was already doing studio recordings. Like most of the kids, Gucci had his inspiration – he was the famous MC Big Daddy Kane. Both his beats and lyrics are hugely influenced by the old school Brooklyn rapper.

Early Life

Gucci Mane’s first single album goes by the name of “Black Tee”. The album turned out to be huge success and was played regularly on the Atlanta based radios.

With his interest of writing poem, Gucci Mane changed the face of hip hop music in Atlanta. In 2005, the rapper released his album “Trap House” that featured a popular song named “Icy”. Young Jeezy was the rapper who featured together with Mane, the song later became Gucci’s defining moment. Though the collaboration between the two artists did not last long but the song remains their best partnership till date.

Career

While Gucci Mane’s Trap House album is known for the hit song Icy and the dispute between the two artists, his next album “Hard to Kill” released in 2006 featured on Hot 100 chartbusters.

After coming up with various mixtapes, Gucci Mane finally signed to Warner Bros records in May 2009. To add more to the accolades, Gucci featured on the remixes of songs like “Boom Boom Pow” by Black Eyed Peas and “Obsessed” by Mariah Carey. That year also saw the rapper do a lot of social appearances.

Though a slight rough patch caught Gucci Mane where he was charged with murder and assault cases, he soon recovered from it to give more to his fans. After getting free from jail, Davis promised to get rid of the label name. Instead of “So Icey Entertainment” it will be called “1017 Brick Squad Records”. In 2010 he released the album “The Appeal: Georgia’s Most Wanted”. This surely leaves nothing to wonder as to how tall is Gucci Mane.
